Palmarosa oil is a favorite in my salon due to its hydrating properties. It helps soothe psoriasis and eczema outbreaks...

In The Salon

I remember, the first time, uncapping and inhaling the peaceful aroma of palmarosa oil as the scent molecules escaped the bottle. The fragrance captured my heart and lightened my spirit. Being one of my dearest friends now, it travels with me everywhere.

Palmarosa essential oil is one of my favorite oils to use in the salon and at home. The plant is related to tropical grasses including lemongrass and citronella. The fragrant grassy leaves  swaying in the wind can reach heights of 9 feet.  Its psychological and physical effects help maintain balance in the body, mind, spirit and heart.

A soft rose like scent can be detected in this fresh herbal middle note that is used in cosmetic applications,  products and perfumes. You can create your own unique lotions, facial cleansers, soaps and more by adding this delightful oil to your favorites Twilight carriers.

Unfortunately, some unethical essential oil producers or manufactures use the slight rose scented palmarosa to adulterate the more expensive Rose Otto and Rose Absolute oils.

Many adverse skin conditions can be traced to emotional stress.  Palmarosa has a gentle ability to relax the mind and induce a state of patience while receiving skin healing facials. Dry and mature skin respond well to its hydrating benefits. Twilight carriers.

Customizing soothing scalp treatments for clients or for yourself can be  made by blending palmarosa with Jojoba carrier oil to help reduce hair loss and calm psoriasis and eczema. This technique will also impart shine to the hair. Of course the scalp massage does wonders for relaxation and living in the moment!

Massage therapists incorporate palmarosa with their massage lotions and carrier oils for clients who suffer from neuralgia, sciatica and rheumatic pain. You can add this nourishing oil to your bath, organic FragranceFree Lotions or simply diffuse its bliss into the air.

Mixing Tips For Skin and Scalp Treatments

  • Most oils are mixed at 2.5% dilution for adults.
  • That is approximately 5 drops added to 10ml of carrier. Palmarosa can be diluted at a lower ratio because of its strong aroma and powerful healing attributes.
  • So you might want to lower the amount of drops you add to your formula to 1.25% and do a patch test to see if this suitable for you.
  • That means for 10ml of carrier add about 2 drops of essential oil.
  • Less is always best!  You can always add more.

Spiritual & Crystal

This heart centered oil is calming during meditations and times of stress. For healing to occur in the body it must also occur in the mind and spirit.  I diffuse and/or anoint Palmrosa oil while writing in my Gratitude Journal or  timed writing.

The essence of the oil helps connect your heart to your mind and provides support and knowledge that everything has a process. Within this process there is proper timing. Palmarosa instills the patience needed to heal in the proper timing for you.

Our favorite crystal to pair palmarosa with is the compassionate, loving Rose Quartz.

It is one of several stones that complement each others' energy. More about the loving Rose Quartz blog post .

The Rose Quartz and Palmarosa oil make a great team for their age defying benefits.

Allow Palmarosa to be of assistance in keeping your Heart Chakra Open, Healed and Happy.
